Using this app very often
Ive been a long-time user of Things, and its something of a pained relationship. On the one hand, the developers tend to be slow at issuing updates; on the other, its not the kind of app that needs regular updating. Its my favourite GTD app; Ive heard its not for everyone, but it works for me.
You can nitpick but this is quite simply the only GTD of many that Ive ever stuck to. 5 stars for that alone.
When attention and discipline flag, I fall back into habits like disconnected reminders & emailing myself. Opening Things always nudges me back to the GSD method. Like the customisability.
Was using gTasks, but found it hard to show the due date. After starting with this app I like it the more I use it.
Recent tweets have made Things faster. Its been my most essential software for years.
I looked for a long time to find a scheduling app that is simple to use, will roll over tasks easily to the next day and can deal with ongoing projects. This app does all of that perfectly. Its the best scheduling app there is. Highly recommended!!
Ive been using this app from the beginning, but I have to say that I would not have given it 5 stars back then. But the syncing (iPhone to Mac to iPad) not works flawlessly. And the Daily Review was the crowning touch. This app is now essential to my GTD workflow.
Started simple with Things, using it as a basic todo list. Once I mastered Projects and especially Areas of Responsibility it really shone. Syncing works great.
Finally there’s an Apple Watch native app and it’s blazingly quicker than the old one and also has watch face complications. Things has had an awesome Apple Watch app from day 1, and it’s even better now. Very happy to support a dev that’s so good at updating and improving it’s product.
Don’t buy this app. There was a problem with the app and they were unable to fix it. I got the impression that I was bothering them. They told me about the hours they spent trying to fix my problem when I told them I would write a negative review. I also spent hours following their “fixes” to my problem with the app. Until then, I had really liked it.
Super fast syncing, always reliable. Quality over a plethora of features.
Great app, and Ive tried a lot. Strong focus on user experience.
I dont understand some of the negative comments re the lack of upgrades. The strength of Things is that it creates a great compromise between complex apps like Omnifocus and simple List apps like Clear. If you want things like sub tasks, sub sub tasks, collaboration, mail integration, etc. etc. There are lots of other apps that can provide that. Things is a very mature and stable app that does what it claims to do very well. Its not perfect ( no Task management app is - Ive probably tried at least 30 of them) I appreciate that the Devs introduce major changes very slowly. Im sure they could easily have gone the feature bloat way a long time ago if they wanted to. Personally I would like to see timed reminders but not going to rant about it if it doesnt happen. Still my go to task app. Ive tried them all and Things has the best combination of simplicity and power and reliability. If youre into GTD its the best option available
was in china last year using vpn to sync, it was painful. Now i dont have to worry about it! glad to see this update!
Sometimes simple is best. I can capture items on the fly and deal with them today or assign them a date for later handling. I like that I can capture everything but only see what is relevant today. Nice design, nice app. Thanks !
Very easy to understand. Quite powerful. Worth the money.
Things is an application that really stands out. Recommended !
The glances task list do not refresh properly. The bug came back a few weeks after the supposed fix. Please rectify!!
