All the things in one app... So good. Thank you!!!

Love it for personal use

Its exactly what I wanted in a to-do app and works well for me. I am editing this review after using it for sometime....Because it does have one big flaw which is if you forget to check off an item on the day you do it, the log book will record the item done on the day its checked off and you cant edit the date to show on the actual date it was done. This needs to be fixed. It makes the log book much less reliable as a record of when tasks are done. So I could never use it for work, for example, which is too bad because in so many other ways the format is great.

Fundamental problems from top down

Ive been a Things user for 3 years (iPhone, iPad, Mac). I have used it religiously and my database has hundreds and hundreds of tasks and projects, both scheduled into the future and recurring. But I am fed up and leaving for Todoist, even though it will take me a month to migrate! Why? Cultured Code doesnt take care of its software or users. I have become trapped in software I am not happy with and thats poorly supported, even if it does work okay, syncs reasonably well (no, not perfectly) and has a decent UI. None of those are worth writing home about, and I think the shortcoming outweigh the benefits, but I digress. See, Things 3 was announced in 2013 I believe and is still only in Alpha testing for iPhone and Beta on Mac. (Makes me wonder how they will release them together.) Still, Cultured Code keeps their users poorly updated on its progress so I have little hope or excitement for their release, if that ever happens. But Things 3 is the only hope for this app to keep up with competitors and correct its own shortcomings (eg add collaboration, time-based reminders, sub-projects to name a few). But when will it ever arrive!? Still, theres a bigger problem. The poor approach to Things 3 reveals how broken Cultured Code is. I have had numerous poor Customer Service experiences and cases where they said they know of the bugs and shortcomings that plague the app, but they have no plan to fix bugs because they are concentrating on Things 3 instead. Gee thanks! And when Things 3 arrives, what kind of support will they offer? How will they handle the bugs? They clearly cant keep up if it has taken 3 years to make a beta product and a WatchOS version. That also shows their messed up priorities. More users want Things 3 than a WatchOS version. I wonder if they suffer from Shiny Object Syndrome or just wanted the WatchOS version for themselves, so they prioritized it over upgrading their core product. My advice on this app: dont invest your To Do system in Things because youll be trapped. Look very hard at the alternatives. Judge them not only on features and UI but also on the mentality of the developer. Task management software is an investment and Cultured Code will not take care of you. For me, the alternative was a toss up between Todoist (get a trial as a Business user even if you arent) and OmniFocus, and I employ Workflowy as an external brain as well (brilliant app). For you, go experiment and find out. Just please dont settle with Things. If youve made it this far and arent sure whether to trust my review, go take a look at the discussions @cukturedcode is having on Twitter. Deflecting requests and inquiries from users left, right and centre. Yuck. My advice to Cultured Code: a done something is better than a perfect nothing. Hire some staff and get things/Things done!

I life saver and a must

I recommend using it along with the desktop version and to brush up on the GTD methodology

Very well designed

Things is my preferred to-do list app. It syncs beautifully across my iPhone, iPad & Macs. Excellent.

Awesome app

Really helpful app.

Nothing special

I thought there would be more to this app, but as of right now, I dont see why it should cost more then 5$ the cloud functionality is nice, but its a whopping 75$ on Mac. It functions a lot like your normal reminders that come stock with your iPhone, except the viewing interface is slightly different. Definitely get the Mac trial I didnt know about before spending your money.

Excellent

Things works extremely well for me. I use this app each day on my iPhone, iPad and two Macs. No problems with swiftly and accurately cloud syncing all four devices. The app has excellent organizational options. It can be used for the simplest reminders, as well as for developing, tracking and achieving complicated projects. Things fulfills all my requirements for an app of this genre.

Less is more

I love things. Been using it since 2010. I manage team of 5 people. Things is where I keep tasks organize for everyone. It is simple list of task I can re order move check and delete. Simple and it works.

I love this app!

It would be great if the todos due date feature had a time that could be added (a due time?) , along with an alert to notify you an hour before the due date is. - more precision. Other than that amazing.

Things review

I love this app. It helps me stay organized and plan ahead

My favourite productivity app

This company is a perfectionist one. I dont recall having one bug since I started using Things years ago but that comes at the cost of speed; I wish they have some collaboration/delegation features.

No value here

Non intuitive. Ridiculously expensive. Impractical.

Power and Simplicity Perfectly Balanced

People often overlook Things because of its simplicity. Us geeks tend to like complexity. Other popular applications deliver that complexity. Some of the most popular productivity apps are very "fiddely". You can spend many hours fussing with the application, getting up to speed, and never get anything done. Even worse, the complexity of some popular productivity applications can lead you into making fatal mistakes that will cause you to miss very important tasks. However, Things excels at the thing to do app should excel at: it gets out of your way to let you get things done. Its simple, straightforward and yet powerful enough to run your life. Its a great balance between power and simplicity. I highly recommend Things.

Simply the best

Tried all task management app, always keep coming back to Things for its delightful UI, amazing sync speed/reliability, and the fact it works very well wether you have a few tasks or many projects to manage

Makes my life better

Most frequently used app on my desktop as it actually makes my life better!!!!!

Expensive and not intuative

While I love the idea and what the app is supposed to be for, its not easy to use at first you have to read the info on it to understand how you move things. I still dont understand projects and areas. I dislike the inability to add specific dates and times, it doesnt sync with cloud, and its EXPENSIVE. You have to rebuy every time you want to use on a different device (phone, tablet, computer). At the very least the phone and tablet should be the same app...at the phone price... Would not recommend this app based on price alone. Its too expensive to just try and realize it wont work for your needs.

Its ok

Its just ok. Its expensive, and the UI hasnt been updated in years, but its an ok task app. The UI makes it look dated and ugly though.

For serious personal use

Lacking in sub-task flexibility, and the desktop version is crazy expensive. Other than that, it has just the right balance of features and simplicity for serious personal use.

Indispensable! -Really

For what this app was uniquely designed to do it does masterfully. It manages the complexities in a way thats still easy to use. There is simply no equivalent (that Ive seen). Beyond exhaustively using it, Ive RELIED on this app every day since installing it years ago. Great work team!!
